The Simple Picture Organizer copies your pictures from your camera (or other removable media device) to the appropriate place in your My Pictures folder. Digital Cameras store lots of extra information inside the JPG file besides the actual picture. This program gets the date and time each picture was actually taken (not the date you copied it to your computer) and uses this to create folders and name your picture files.
Let's say you took lots of pictures on September 22, 2011 but you didn't copy them to your computer until October 1st at 6pm. Most programs will create a folder for the day you plugged in your camera--I don't see a value in using this date. You want the folder to be based on the date the pictures were taken.
Instead of your files being named 10012011-1800\
PIC001.JPG
Simple Picture Organizer will do this: 2011\
09 Sep\
20110922-130000.JPG
Doesn't that make much more sense?
How do I use it?!?
Plug in your camera
Run Simple Program Organizer
Watch your files get organized
Your "My Pictures" folder will open automatically when it's done
